Dante Alighieri

Throughout Europe poets emerged producing written verses that are still read to this day.

Perhaps the best known European poets did not only use the traditional structure of stanza in their writing. Dante Alighieri is best known for his epic poems, Paradiso, Pergatorio and Inferno. These poems are more like long stories that remind the reader of the poetic stories of Greek poet and storyteller Homer.

In Shakespeare's works, it is obvious that weather it is a play or poem, both have beatuifly phrased lines and verses. The language used by Shakespeare continues to ahve influence todday as the English language has adopted much of Shakespeare's slang and speaking style.
